My Reviewer Policy

I read and review paper books, ebooks, traditionally published fiction, and self-published fiction. I prefer novels but I'm willing to review short-story collections and stand-alone short-stories.  Feel free to email me your fiction to
obsidiangmail
as either a PDF file or a Word Document if you'd like a review.  If I'm too swamped, you won't hear back from me. If I review it, I'll email you a link to the completed review (please be patient - this could take a few weeks).

What do I like? Character-driven stories with a solid plot.  Here is what I especially enjoy:

  • fantasy fiction, historical fiction, and mysteries
  • humor (but I'm less fond of parody and satire)
  • adventure and action
  • romantic and sexual tension

What am I willing to tolerate?

  • Ladylike homoerotic fiction with much crying in one another's arms and shampooing of one another's hair.
  • Erotica. But I'll always prefer story over sex scenes.

What do I dislike?

  • scenes of nonconsensual sex (it had better be integral to your story)
  • experimental fiction
  • ultra-violent horror fiction.  This type of fiction I'll pass on reviewing.

What if I don't like your book? You'll get an honest review that points out what I consider to be your book's flaws.  One thing I promise not to do:  I won't rip your book to shreds and make fun of it. If I've got problems with it, I'll take it seriously enough to point out valid reasons for my concerns. I'll also try to point out the good stuff.

Thanks for reading.  You can contact me at
